NEW MAGAZINE FOR AUTHORS

From the South emerges Southern Writers Magazine, the magazine that promotes authors and highlights their books. A unique forum to share and learn secrets of success. We serve marketing advice, building plat forms, grow network of readers, and expand name recognition. We highlight authors who show you how they became successful.

Our promotion for authors goes farther than the magazine. We promote the author’s books in our on-line bookstore, a blog for the author to guest post (which helps to raise ratings) and our Open Mic Nite where the author promotes their book with audio, pictures, bios and events. We promote authors on Facebook and Twitter. Coming this year will be two new avenues where we will promote authors. (Stay tuned)

CONTEST FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Budding writers 10 to 14 years old can win cash this summer for writing modern-day Jonah stories. Youth are being asked to write wail tales, or exaggerated tales of woe sharing the importance of obedience to God.

"I call them wail tales because the character lands in a whale of trouble for doing the wrong thing," says Cheryl Rogers, publisher of New Christian Books Online Magazine and author of Just Like Jonah Wail Tales, a short story collection aimed at preteen and teens.

The magazine is holding the contest in conjunction with the John 3:16 Marketing Network, a group of Christian authors who have bonded together to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

First prize is $100 cash and a $50 Walmart gift card, plus free books. Second place is $75 cash, plus a $25 Walmart gift card, and third place is $25 cash plus a John 3:16 Scripture poster and free books.

Youths 9 to 17 can participate as junior judges.

Submissions are open from June 1 to July 15. Download an invitation for youths athttp://www.facebook.com/l/UAQHK06e6AQEv_NHJ4zsdtvMH1pzGIHm1YL-SyZBHoLHGmQ/www.songsfromtheword.com/NewChristianBooks/invitation
