Members of the media who attend this year's CBA International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in St. Louis, MO, June 27-30, will be busy deciding which bestselling and beloved artists, authors, filmmakers, and industry leaders to interview!
In an unprecedented move, CBA, the Association for Christian Retail, is providing amazing access between registered media and authors/artists/speakers by supplying complimentary tickets to selected CBA-sponsored events. By request only, media are provided with tickets to the Heart of the Author Breakfast, Heart of the Artist Luncheon, CBA Member Luncheon, Workshops, and Seminars. The only requirement is that media request the event(s) they desire to attend prior to June 10, 2010 (CBA is unable to accommodate requests made after this time) . Additional press conference coverage will be available after every major CBA event, such as Pacesetter, Worship Him, the General Sessions, and more. This will allow media organized and controlled access to personalities and speakers they would not have otherwise.
Highly valued in the industry as a launching pad for great Christian books, music, and products, ICRS provides the perfect setting to connect authors and artists with the appropriate media, which is the objective of every publishing house and the goal of every media outlet in attendance.
"We've heard the media frustration of discovering after the fact that a certain artist or personality is in attendance, and we want this remedied," noted CBA Executive Director Curtis Riskey. "This year, we're seeing a growing number of new media in attendance and the effect that's having on the publishing houses inviting some of their top-selling authors."
More of the workshops this year will reflect the always-evolving changes evidenced within this past year of our industry. For example, during the General Sessions, explore how the digital world is influencing and directing the book industry. Digital solutions and global experts will be represented on a diverse panel, with representatives from Google, ECPA, Powell's, EMI-CMG, and others.
With Family Entertainment abounding this year, and numerous new and upcoming films being premiered such as Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Amish Grace and an exclusive sneak peak of the theatrical film The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader , Francis Chan's Basic Fear God , Phil Visher's What's in the Bible series, Grizzly Adams® Media Group producing cutting-edge faith based 3D movies and projected release of 100 faith shows during the next five years, media attention is assured.
In approaching the ever-important media/artist connection along with uniting exhibitors and retailers, CBA is looking to the publishing houses, authors, artists, and filmmakers for unique stories and newsworthy topics that will be sent to local and national media prior to and during the show.
