RANDOM HOUSE CHANGES CONTRACT TERMS

Random House is now making contract offers in quarters. That means the author will be paid 1/4 of the advance on signing, 1/4 when they delivery the manuscript and it is accepted, 1/4 on release of the hardcover, and the last 1/4 a year after that release. Let's hope this doesn't catch on.
