June 8, 2009 (Covington, GA) – East Metro Atlanta Christian Writers (EMACW) invites the public to its annual conference featuring nationally-known author, speaker, and teacher Dr. Dennis Hensley. The conference will be Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at DeKalb Technical College’s Newton Center in Covington, Ga. (about 40 miles east of Atlanta on Interstate 20).
Dr. Hensley is director of the professional writing major at Taylor University Fort Wayne and is on the Board of Directors for the Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild. He’s published six novels, 36 non-fiction books, and thousands of newspaper and magazine articles. He’s also written several recorded Gospel tunes, a stage musical, and several scripts. He’s a frequent speaker at writing conferences across the U.S.
Workshop topics include “12 Ways to Get Into a Publisher’s Mind,” “18 Rules for Contemporary Writing,” “Mastering Leads and Closings,” “The 10 Most Common Reasons for Rejection,” and more. Dr. Hensley’s unique blend of knowledge, storytelling skills, and sense of humor means conferees will thoroughly enjoy themselves while learning to improve their craft.
As an added bonus, local speaker and professional trainer Patricia Durgin will teach a four-session track on “How to Distinguish Yourself in the Marketplace.”
Early bird prices apply. Two-day registration is $150 by June 15 ($175 after June 15) and one-day registration is $75 by June 15 ($85 after June 15).
