Sixteen editors and agents, representing a broad variety of genres, publication elements and religious denominational viewpoints, will be in the Kansas City area on November 11 – 13, 2010 for the Heart of America Christian Writers Network’s (HACWN) annual fall conference. “Write the Vision” will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church’s Quivira Campus at 12501 W. 137th Street in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.
The editors and agents, along with professional members of HACWN, will act as faculty for the conference, presenting over 60 workshops on various elements of writing for publication and pleasure. Conferees can also meet with individuals to help them with their writing skills and sales.
Those scheduled to lead conference workshops include:

* Jeff Gerke – Christian science fiction at Marcher Lord Press
*Carla Foote – Executive Director of Momsense Magazine (MOPS International)
* Duane Brush – Editor for Standard and Reflecting God, publications of WordAction Publishing Company, a part of the Nazarene Publishing House
* Amber Weigand-Buckley – Editor of On Course, a teen magazine with the Assemblies of God
*Melissa Hammer – Senior Editor of WordAction’s children’s materials
*Andrew Attaway – Senior Editor of Guideposts Books
*Ted Baehr – MovieGuide Magazine
*Pam Woody – Associate Editor for Focus on the Family’s Thriving Family magazine
*Kristine Pratt – CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Written World Communication
*Torry Martin – Award-winning actor, screenwriter, comedian, and author, representing Lillinas Drama
*Betsey Newenhuyse – Editorial Director of Moody Publishers
*W. Terry Whalin – Vice President, Intermedia Publishing Group
*Andy Scheer – Manuscript Doctor
*Les Stobbe – Leslie H. Stobbe Literary Agency
*Blythe Daniel – Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc.
In addition to workshops, conferees can enter writing contests; receive critiques for manuscripts, websites or public speaking; pitch an idea to an editor or agent; or have a professional publicity photo taken. The conference is attended by people all across the United States.
